Every year, we plan out how we are going to spend that PTO. We calculate our remaining days, see if any of those hours can roll over, and plot and plan our next getaway. We pull out our bucket lists, we pull up our Pinterest boards, and land on a beautiful destination. We save our pennies and buy tickets, book hotels, shop for new outfits and tiny bottles of shampoo. After all this time and planning and money set aside, the time finally comes! We take in the scenes, enjoy a break and get some wonderful memories. But when we return home, we realize that all we have to show for it is some grainy selfies with poor lighting, terrible angles and someone’s face is cut off — or the other classic travel photo where one person is awkwardly standing in front of an iconic monument or building all by themself and the other is…well, taking the photo.
For all of these reasons, I have decided to book a photographer on our vacations, especially international trips! After all the planning and money spent, I want something better than that mediocre-at-best selfie to frame and hang on my living room wall and look at every single day. And I had gorgeous options to use for our holiday cards as well!
A few years back, my husband and I took our first trip to Europe. In preparation for that I booked a photographer through Flytographer and it was such a great experience! We chose from the list of photographers in our destination [they have photographers in over 300 cities!] by taking a look at their style and portfolio. The cost was comparable to what I would pay for a family photo session at home, so it didn’t even cost any extra to have our photos in front of the Eiffel Tower than it would have at home in front of any old Indiana corn field! We booked a quick 30 minute session so that we could get on with our site seeing. The photographer spoke English and was super friendly, knew the area well and got us some gorgeous professional photos that now hang on our wall and remind me every day of our fun and romantic trip to the City of Love! Do yourself a favor and book a photographer for your next getaway with your spouse, family or friends — you will not regret it!
All photos were taken by our Flytographer in Paris, the lovely Olga. To see more of her work or to book her yourself, check out her page here!
